    Quick Window Blind Installation Guide

Need a quick glance at how to install window blinds? We have a basic overview of how to get the job done. There will be variations depending on your specific product, but nearly all categories of window blinds and shades follow the same basic steps.
    1. Install mounting bracket
Whether your window blinds are inside or outside mount, mounting brackets go up first. This will require a few screws, a level and measuring tape (to make sure your brackets are in line) and maybe pre-drilling depending on your window casing.
    2. Install the Blinds and Shades
Next, the window blind is placed into the mounted brackets.
    3. Install Valance
Many window blinds have valances which click simply into place.
These are the basic steps to installing window blinds. Certain categories of products will have differences such as romans, shutters and some will have additional parts. Please find your product to see the process for your window treatment.
Download or print instructions sheets depending on the blinds product your are installing.
  • Sunscreen & Blockout Roller Blinds
    Tools required for installation:
    - Measuring tape
    - Pencil to make out bracket position
    - Power drill or Screw driver with Phillips head
    - Metal screws (supplied by Cheapblinds.com.au)
    Step by Step installation process:
Step 1. Remove blind from package. Contents of your hardware package will consist of brackets & screws.
The installation brackets are supplied in pairs. One bracket is used with the control side of the blind (the side with the chain) and the second bracket is used with the rotator side. The installation brackets are always mounted so that the inner surfaces face each other. It is very important that the brackets are mounted so that the blind is level when installed.

INSIDE MOUNT Prior to you commencing the installation process ensure you which side the controls are on.

Step 1. Take the bracket with the protrusion (the side where the chain drive is on) and look carefully at your window. Hold the bracket to the spot on your window where it is to be fixed. Please ensure you have allowed enough gap between the glass and the bracket. Look at image on left.
Step 2. With a pencil please mark the two screw holes on each bracket.
Step 3. Drill a small hole in the middle of each marking to help the screws in.
Step 4. Fix the brackets to the window with screws provided.(wood screw provided)
Step 5. Grab the blind and install the chain drive end into the bracket with the protrusion.
VERY IMPORTANT Please ensure the blind is installed into the bracket with the two markings on top of the chain drive facing upward.
Step 6. Hold the blind in position. Now we need to place the other end of the blind into the track of the other bracket until it clicks into position.
Step 7. Position the tension device on the window frame or the wall so that the tension device and the chain do not interfere with raising or lowering the blind. The chain must be taut, but still operable, do not allow for any slack. Do not twist or cross the chain. Holding the tension device upright and in position insert and secure the screw into the hole. Your blind is finally installed.
To open or close the blind it now can be operated by the chain.

OUTSIDE MOUNT follow same process except place the brackets on either end of window corner architraves.

    Easy Child Safety:
It is the responsibility of the person installing the blinds to make sure that child safety devices supplied by Cheapblinds.com.au ( for selected blind types) are installed.  All warning tags are to remain on the blinds. Due to the high risk of child/pet strangulation please ensure that cords are maintained and kept out of reach of danger.

Children could accidentally get tangle in the window covering cords. Keep the chain cord out of reach of children with the tension device provided. The tension device reduces the hazards of strangulation and entanglement of young children by limiting access to the control cord.  Anchor the tension device to the window frame or wall preventing children from wrapping the cord around their necks.
